Hello! I am a random player currently ranked 1000 in master’s. I’ve
been playing random since day 1 of the beta, an believe playing random
has given me a more comprehensive understanding of the game, and also
a great coach. My coaching method focuses on helping people learn
fundamentals, such as where your eyes should be at certain times of
the game, how to spend your money correctly, and how to react properly
to scouting information. I look forward to playing with you!

BIO: Hello, I’m Steve “scipio” Stinson, a masters terran player from the United States. After playing Brood War on ICCup for about a year, I got the SC2 beta in March 2010, and have been playing SC2 ever since. I’ve talked with a few terran pros, and have good knowledge of what mindset players have when playing, as well as methods to improve.

The lesson plan’s focus will depend on what level the student is. If the student is in a lower league, we will focus on raw mechanics and how to identify/execute a “safe” build. For those higher up, we will focus on in-game mindset and decisionmaking, on top of a brief coverage of how to improve mechanics.
I look forward to teaching you!

BIO:

Bio: Hello, I’m André “WTAutunno” Armstrong, an NA master Terran player. This is the first RTS I played competitively but my passion for the game made me achieve relatively good skill with few games played, by watching a ton of games and reading a lot of strategy posts on forums.

The coaching session will depend on your skill level and your goals, at our first encounter I’ll be reviewing your replays in order to determinate the primary issues you need to focus on, followed by practice matches (with Ventrilo) where I help you to fix this holes in your play.

When you have a solid macro I’ll help you develop game sense and show you how to use a build of your liking to its maximum potential, or to teach you the builds I use in case you are confortable in learning different styles.

Obs: if you are bronze or silver I’ll not be doing live session coaching; instead, I will analyse your replays and provide you will with information for you to improve your play and give you some simple builds you can use.

BIO:

Hi, I’m Chris “EnVBonkerz” Evans. This is my first RTS game that I’ve actually
played at a somewhat competitive level. But since the first day that I saw it on youtube,
I fell in love with it. I believe that through hard work anything can be achieved. I have
worked up to 180 APM per game from my old lousy 50 APM. Having a good mindset and hard
work. Getting coached by me will consist of tests to see your BASE skill and we will work
from there! We will establish goals, such as, What type of player you want to be, and
what kind of styles you feel suite how  you play. Additionally, we will review replays
and find holes in your play that can be easily fixed.

If you wish to have a lesson with me please make sure you have SKYPE (or a vent or TS3
server we can use) and a MIC to allow us to communicate and make our player to coach
experience much more enjoyable.

Last Note: I stream pretty much on a daily basis, if you ever wish to see me play you can
do so here: www.justin.tv/bonkerz1

My coaching style is one that will make yourself think differently about the game, and will force you to realize that there is always room for improvement. A big thing to get over is your own ego, as soon as that is accomplished who knows what can happen!

I really like to watch a person play a game or two and then I will tell them what they need to focus on and how they need to practice to improve.

Bio: I have played Starcraft going on ten years plus now. I initially played Brood War from 1998 until 2008 even though I didn’t really take the competitive aspect of the game until a later phase of the games life. I competed in my first WCG in the WCG USA 2004 Nationals. After that, I started to really look deep into the game. Took part in numerous online leagues to include WGTour, PGTour, Fish Server, Brainclan and ICCup. In 2005 I was recruited by Future Talent Art Control Team / FT.aCt) and started to truly to get into a dedicated period of playing with top level players such as ParanOid, Dreiven and MistrZZZ to name a few. After a year, I progressed onward and found myself in 2006 to play in Korea in my first Courage League in which I lost in the 2nd round and was greeted by Dream.t)BlacK and came back to play under the Dream.t) tag where I was able to play with such pros as Inter.Point, Say[jOin], NsP_FlOwer and numerous pros on Dream.t). My last true event that I competed in was Spirit Tour held on ICCup in which I finished in the top 20 with 55-20 B/B+ stats beating 3 of the 4 korean pros that I played against in the showmatches. After not moving onto the next round of the event due to some prejudice I quit playing until Starcraft 2 came out in 2010 and played a little beta and quit again to only come back and play in 2011 for good.

Now I am actively playing on the NA, EU and KR clients where I am a 1600+ Masters player with team OGaming [ oG) tag ].

BIO: Hey guys my name is Fishsticks. I’m 20 years old and have been playing starcraft 2 for about six monthes now. Before SC2 I never really played any RTS games and mostly just playing world of warcraft and other MMORPGs. I coach any zerg matchup and can provide detailed information on protoss and terran strategies. Although I do not know specific build orders for terran and protoss, I am very good at predicting on what they are doing based off limited information. I prefer to coach by either watching you in a game and give advice or watching replays. I also prefer to give more specified advice such as in a specific match up or  a specific problem you are having. I can also work on general issues with the zerg race but would prefer if you came to me with an issue you are having. The best way to get a hold of me is through this website and email but I also spend a lot of time on the WTR1BE chat channel in SC2.

BIO: Greetings, I am 25 years old currently attending BSU to become a History teacher.  I have been playing video games since I can remember including SC:BW.  I started playing on ICCUP when they announced SC2 because I wanted to be at least somewhat competitive at it.  I started off playing Protoss in beta but quickly switched to Zerg due to horror known as PvP.

I am very passionate about teaching and feel this will be good experience for me.  I have been coaching some friends and they have shown tremendous progress, and I hope to give back to the community through this.

I will be able to coach any ZvX matchup up to mid Masters and any PvX up to Diamond.  The coaching sessions will be structured similarly to this:
-Determine what you want to work on
-Watch some of your replays and discuss them with you
-Develop a plan on how to improve
-Coach you while playing a game against a better opponent

I look forward to working with you and good luck with all your future endeavors.

BIO:

Hi there I’m a 24-year-old Arkansan/skydiving instructor/rock climbing
extraordinaire  named Josh.  I graduated school two years ago with a
degree
in Civil Engineering and did not care for any of the jobs I worked to be
quite honest, so I quit and now love my job and play starcraft in the mean
time.  I’ve played video games since I was a small child and have always
really enjoyed them, I’m currently trying to get more active in the
tournament scene and hopefully actually go to/qualify some major
tournaments
in the future.  I went to MLG for Halo 3 and loved it but quit the game
and
totally switched to sc2, I really wanna go back!!

I love helping people, thus I applied to this site to be a coach for free.
In the past I usually have just helped friends by observing games and
telling them what I think the best choice would have been in that
situation,
and that’s what I prefer and think people benefit the most from.  I can
coach ZvX, and we can go about it however you would like, (watch replays,
observe you playing an equal opponent, play against you, w/e) just let me
know.  We can start from the ground up with mechanics, or just work on
different strategies, whatever you need help with.  I think I can give a
pretty intuitive/analytical perspective on all zerg matchups and believe I
can offer some quality advice to people in need.  Have a nice day and may
the shaka be with you. :D

But the  persons I have helped out i just played with them or obs their games and tell them what they could of done better. i cant guarantee i will always give the best advice since the game is ever changing and there are multiple paths to take to win a game but I will try.

Masters Season 1 & 2

BIO: Hey guys! I’m David “Apnea” Zukowski, a 20 year old Computer Science major at Western Michigan University who’s looking to lend a helping hand to any interested Protoss players. Starcraft II is actually my first competitive RTS, which I entered without any Brood War or beta experience, and despite originally placing into Bronze I’ve worked my way up to mid/high Masters.

As for my play style, I’m a very macro-oriented player, and as a result will be emphasizing similar themes in my coaching sessions. Consequently, I’d like to stress that winning games isn’t what makes you a better player, it’s the refinement and evaluation that comes after a game, so please don’t come in with the expectation that I can provide you with a universal strategy. Aside from that, whether you’re a Bronze level player who simply wants to obtain a better understanding of the race or a Diamond player who is in need of very specific refinement, I’m able to help on all levels; all I ask is that you come to me with a set goal, however big or small it may be, and an open-minded attitude.

Finally, I’d just like to emphasize that my availability extends from playing one-on-one to simply analyzing replays or discussing the game over skype, so don’t be afraid to message me! Hope to play with you soon!

BIO: Hello, I’m David “Temprament” Riley. Due to my skill per time spent playing ratio I figured I would offer up my services and do some coaching! I work 40 hours a week and thus do not get time to devote myself 100% to SC2 but I do however take time out to go to LANs/Tournaments to try my hand at how well I can do. Normally I can smash people till about mid level masters (What was about 3.6-3.7k last season when people like Idra were at around 4-4.1k).

Overall I have about 400-500 games played since I started playing SC2, which was about 2 months after release. Which is why people tell me for having very little RTS background that I do way better than I honestly should.

Please feel free to contact me by e-mail for any questions on coaching. If your just bored and want someone to theory craft with or just have some questions feel free to message me! I am always down for games and helping where I can!

Background:
I played SC1 but only things like 3v3 Zero clutter (Which I just ended up backstabbing my teamates alot cuz I was quite young) or user maps like golem wars. I also played warcraft 3 but never ladder it was another UMS situation. So SC2 is my first real RTS game that is why I think ill make such a great coach. Most people coming into the game will have the same questions and problems I encountered so I feel the ways I over came them help out quite alot!

Top Diamond(pre-masters)/Top Masters since early beta.
Top 200 throughout most of the beta, Top 300 or so player since release.

BIO: Hey, I’m Alex “Leyra” Higgins, I’m an Econ/accounting student at NC
State University, entering my final year at school!  I’m a top Masters
Protoss player, been playing SC2 since early beta.  I have a limited BW
background, but I definitely think like a BW player, and approach the game
as such.

I play Protoss a bit different than most players, focused around playing a
more aggressive expansion style, multi-pronged harrass/attacks, and simply
being able to out-produce and out-macro my opponent.  I feel the “One big
push” style that many Protoss (even extremely successful ones!) play, will
at some point in this game’s development, become a weak, unreliable style of
play and my style will remain robust and powerful.  I like to focus on basic
mechanics, fundamentals, and making good decisions, and all these and my
multi-tasking to win games for me instead of relying on any sort of gimmicks
or tricks!

When it comes to coaching, I am glad to work with students on any matchup,
any style, any build, on any map!  As long as you approach it with an open
mind (Nothing is imbalanced!!!) and are willing to learn I’m glad to help! I
prefer to have my student play against someone around his skill level (If
you have a friend that would like to help, that would be best.) while I
observe, and offer critiques.  I also like to go over replays where a
student doesn’t understand where the loss is coming from.  If a student is
really struggling, I’m also glad to organize a strong early game build order
from scratch, and start the match-up over completely.  I do strongly
recommend anyone who contact me to have a headset + mic, and be willing to
use Skype or Ventrilo, as typing is really a poor means of communication for
coaching.  Finally, you must speak English, be willing to learn, and most of
all, be passionate about the game, because I know I am!

BIO:*Hi! I’m Matthew “Adrenal” Taylor, a 21 year-old Maths student from Durham
University, England. I’ve been playing SC2 since early beta and have reached
competitiveness at a national level as well as a high Master rank before I
took a six-week break for my uni exams. I’m coming back to the game now and
having been a long-time Warcraft/Starcraft poster on a non-TL gaming forum
I’m looking to move into coaching! I’m based on the EU server, but I do also
have an NA account if you’d like me to jump over there.

I’m not asking much from prospective students – you just need to be active,
level-headed (that means no whining about imbalance!) and are able to talk
over Skype with good English. We’ll start off talking a little about what
you’d like to gain from being taught – perhaps move up a division, beat a
friend or a more long-term goal – and then we’ll probably continue by going
over a few of your games in a matchup of your choosing, moving on to other
matchups, individual strategies and general principles from there. It’ll be
quite flexible and the input I give will be based largely around what you’d
like to get help with!

One thing about me – the kind of advice I’ll be giving will likely be
oriented towards a macro game, so while it’s not essential that you enjoy
long matches, you’ll probably be “a better fit” if you do! I’ve got to where
I am through good decision-making and general game sense above crisp builds
and an encyclopedic knowledge of timings, so that’s the kind of play I’ll be
espousing – long-term, positive equity decisions. I’ll try and improve your
“doing”, but I hope to improve your thinking much more! :)

great community of starcraft people.

I like to gather some information about my students and their needs prior to
a coaching session so that I may prepare beforehand for what needs to be
done.  I like helping people refine their own builds or just providing them
with new, safe ones if they feel like they need a fresh start with a
matchup.  I like doing only one matchup and one build order per session.
Showing people that the fundamentals of the game as well as rational
decision making can be performed by anyone and can allow a quick advancement

I’m a 19 year old Aussie. I’ve been a competitive gamer for a few years now. I started with  CoD and moved onto SCBW and I have been in love ever since. I have been playing SC2  since the phase 1 beta.

I prefer to coach students while observing them playing a person of relative skill and  nitpicking at their game. I like to help people learn how to watch their own replays so they  can continue to improve after my lesson. Players will sometimes have huge flaws in their  game that are easy to fix; sometimes they will have to have their mindset switched up a  little bit. I’ve always been a macro focussed player so all my lessons will involve getting to  the end game with a better economy or army composition.

Has been playing Starcraft for a very long time, has a lots of experience with RTS
Masters on US

I am a pharmacy school student in his 2nd year in the Chicagoland area.
Currently, I play Starcraft competitively and participate in tournaments and
other competitions such as KoTH with friends and other moderately high level
players.  I’ve been playing SC for as long as I can remember and
occasionally dabble in FPS games as well.

As for coaching, I like to think of myself as a very controlled player
without too much “over-reaction” built into my play.  I feel that I can
communicate clearly and effectively and help those looking for assistance
find it as it was shown to me when I first began playing.  I also spend way
too much of my time roaming the wastelands of the internet.  I’ve done
coaching via watching replays, playing an actual match, or just discussing
build orders with various players I’ve met (many of them great friends
now).  Ultimately, I believe I can make you a better player.

Included is a picture that I found entertaining.

Protoss Coaching Bnet: Anglory (Protoss)

Match-ups I coach: PvT, PvP & PvZ

Anglory IS CURRENTLY ON BREAK

Hello, I am Christopher “Anglory” Lan from western US (California). I have been an active RTS player since 2008 in Brood War, and started StarCraft 2 since May Beta.
I coach all Protoss matchups, from my strongest to weakest, PvZ, PvP, and PvT. I will never request a donation during the coaching session, as my goal is not to make a profit out of it, I simply want to use my time to help other players improve. I would like all my students to give me two critical pieces of information before I start coaching, their short-term goal and long-term. I believe that in any situation, having goals helps improve a player. For example, your short term goal could be to get to Platinum League or beat a friend that is better than you (usually within 7 weeks), and your long term would be to qualify for NASL or MLG.
My style of coaching prefers to have an extra person, an optimal person would be a friend that you can rarely beat play with you while I Skype you, without ghosting. If not, I have a lot of friends that you can play and practice with, though it would not be the best as they usually are all Master League and higher. I will try to identify your biggest problem, whether it be mechanics, understanding and fundamentals of matchups, or both. After the lesson, I will sit and make an outline on Microsoft Words on what you learned and other points, then send it to you. This also helps refresh my mind next time for references to see if you did improve the issues, or if we need to review it again.
